A Premium Spirographic Espresso Distribution Tool (WDT Tool) by Papel Espresso®
We’ve optimized every aspect of this tool, from perfectly engineered gear ratios to the placement of the needles. Elevate your espresso experience with unparalleled consistency just a few spins away. Perfectly fluffy espresso pucks are now within reach.
Quick geometry lesson: Hypotrochoids and epitrochoids are curves defined by tracing a point attached to a circle that’s rolling along the inside or outside of a fixed circle, respectively. Spirographs use this concept to create mesmerizing geometric patterns.
The Papel WDT™ employs 14 needles, each with a 0.30mm diameter, to trace dozens of hypotrochoids and epitrochoids through the mounded coffee grounds in your Cafelat Espresso basket. This mechanical motion distributes and fluffs the grounds in seconds, ensuring consistency no matter how early in the morning it is. The increased needle count, compared to competitors, enhances distribution performance, elevating your espresso enjoyment.
The Papel WDT™ features a perfect gear design that mixes, distributes, and aerates the coffee grounds in your portafilter in just three spins. Four separate gears come together in an optimized fashion.
🖊️Design:
Design ergonomics and flexibility: The design is optimized for needle placement and ergonomic use.
Use of 14 needles: More needles compared to others enhance distribution performance and improve the espresso experience.
Identical product as advertised: The product you receive will be identical to the one shown in the shared images.
Detailed prints: The product is meticulously designed to capture even the finest details.
How to use the tool:
The tool comes with 14 needles pre-inserted into the gear holes.

✔️Compatibility:
Currently, the base is designed to fit 58mm portafilters with two flanges. If you have a different type or size of portafilter, please contact us. We plan to offer additional options to increase compatibility in the future, so let us know what you’re using.
We designed and manufactured this product to be fully compatible with your Cafelat Robot. During the ordering process, we offer two options: you can purchase just the WDT tool or the WDT tool along with the Cafelat Robot Tamping Station. The tool is working great. Onur took his time and created an individualised product for me, and everything is working great. G
reat communication, great customer service and a great product. I can recommend buying here.

I own a Robot and already had the normal version with the adapted needle length. However, while great product in itself, for the deep basket of the robot it came with some problems. Needles would bend if not placed correctly and the Robot basked is not exactly 58mm. All those issues were addessed with this iteration. It just works perfectly now and is to my knowledge the only spirograph tool that is specifically made for the Robot. I highly recommend it, as it gets rid of one of the only downsides of the Robot: getting a level bed of grounds with a normal WDT tool or just by knocking, is annoying and difficult. With this tool it’s as simple as you like. Kind of a 2 in 1 solution. Also, the measured are now perfect for the Robot basket, which makes the process a lot more enjoyable. Customer support is outstanding btw!
